Been running my trike on a 28x2 and home made shield now for a few months.
It runs the following:-
1.Indicators(self cancelling)
2.Hazzard lights
3.Sidelamps
4.Headlamps.
5.Hi/low
6.Horn
7.Starter/Kill
8.Alarm
9.Keyless ignition.
The whole list above is controlled from 3 momentary switches on...
Finally got my shield soldered up today.
I have changed the 5v regulator for an lm2937et -5.0,And noticed it is getting rather warm when running from 12v.
It will eventually run on a 13.5v supply so the heat worries me.
Anyone got any ideas about a suitable heatsink that would fit in the tight...
Can anyone tell me the max current allowable through the Vin(9-12v) pin on the header on an Axe401 Board?
If i am using it to power something on a shield, and using the vin plug connector to power everything.
Just bought A cheap dual relay off Ebay and they sent me the following Schematic.
They reckon it Needs about 15-20ma on each input to drive it.
I am connecting this to a 28x2 shield and would like to know how i check the current with a multimeter.
I would like to connect 8-10 of these but the...
Would it be safe to replace the 5v Regulator with an lm2937et-5.0 and replace the 2 caps with .1uf and 10uf as per the lm2937 Datasheet?.
I want to use it in an automotive application (Nothing Critical so no need to start a discussion about Safety etc).
But i also don't wish to blow it up.
I have read many post about having pulldown resistors on a mosfet gate to keep it low during boot up in sensitive circuits.
Would this also apply when using a uln2803 and Relays to drive sensitive Circuits?
Don't want anything running wild on boot up.
Just recieved my Axe033 this morning.
What is the red silicone or gunge track running around the outside of the board.
It's covering the header pin holes?
This is the next iteration of my circuit.
The power supply is pretty much a direct copy of the megasquirt power supply shown elsewhere on the forum.
I just thought this may be a good starting point as it is well proven.
The circuit is basically a fusebox/wiring/controller for my Trike.
All of...
Could someone help me calculate the rsense resistor size using the formula on page9 here:-

The Datasheet for the vn920 is here:-

I just need to check the size...
Could anyone just spend a few mins to check the attatched Circuit?
It is just a board for something else i am developing, and i want to cut the pcb on my cnc tommorow.

Manual 3 page 7 mentions a 100k pulldown resistor on the gate of the mosfet to pulldown during turn on.
Not being electonics literate does this mean a 100k resistor between the output on the picaxe and ground?
Just wondering if anyone has done any experimenting with this or similar devices?.

I want to use one of these to replace a fuse and relay in an automotive application.
As far as i can see all i require is a pulldown...
