My suggestion is that some thought be given to a method of capturing versions of programs so that one can always go back.
One possibility would be to save a time-stamped read-only copy of every successful download (or give an option to do so) in a separate folder. Programs are small so the space requirements would be manageable.
Also, when doing a 'save-as', please could you fill in the file name in the save dialogue, as a basis for editing. Usually one neeeds to add a suffix to an existing name, not to create a name from scratch.
