While trolling the internet today came across this Electronics in Schools website based in England. http://www.ectinschools.org/
While not exactly PICAXE (but there are cases where Rev Ed products have been used) orientated in has details on some circuits that may be interfaced to PICAXE chips similar to the Rev Ed manual examples.

Have a look at the datasheet section in particular.

The Retriggerable Monostable (about half way down the list of “Datasheets”) used as a pulse stretcher in the manner I have recently mentioned in a couple of threads here is also covered.

PICAXE chips do get a mention amongst the PIC chip on this page: http://www.ectinschools.org/page.php?ps=2&p=895

The Electronics Club website is linked via various references from the EIS website.

Topics like soldering are covered through links to other sites: http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/solder.htm
