Tune in the background

Hello,

Is there a way to play a tune whilst still still doing other things such as sending signals to an LCD or monitoring a keypad?

No, things like serial LCD controls are very timing sensitive and so cannot be done at the same time as a tune. One way to do this is to dedicate a second 08M2 to playing the tune.

For the LCD, you could use a bigger PICAXE and the parallel interface, which is much faster than a serial LCD, meaning the tune doesn't have to stop for several hundred ms while the display updates.
