Hi,

Is there anyway to use serial out/A.4/physical pin 7 on a 28pin X part as an output? I'd like to use it for CS on a SPI project and all I need to do it pull it low/high.

In the manual appendix E it doesnt suggest it's possible, wondered if there a poke that'll do it?

Any help would be really appriciated

Presumably you mean 28X2 - Any of the following, and just use it like any other pin ...

High A.4
Low A.4
pinA.4 = 1
pinA.4 = 0

Hiya Hippy,

Cheers for the quick post. The editor grumbles at me with Low A.4 or pinA.4 = 0

The one in front of me is a 28x1, should I swap to a x2 if this isnt possible on the x1?

Cheers

There is no "A.4" on the 28X1, so yes, select a 28X2 :)

It may be possible to alter the SEROUT line on 28X1 using POKESFR but I cannot remember.

Oh, wubbish, the x2's are at the office and I'm at home. I've the 5.2.10 editor on this computer, the manual is a little confusing, the picture says x2 but the main headline says "Appendix E ? Configuring PICAXE-28X / 28X1 Input-Output Pins", might be worth a tweak. If there is an SFR for it that'd be cool. If you know of anything close on another pin i'm happy to wander the 886 datasheet and see if I can figure it out.
