This is a nice new & cheap IMO chip/pcb/system for serial to RCA video.

Fully documented with source and hex code etc!!

Anyone any idea if the Bas800 hardware programmer I bought from rev-ed would work with Amtel Mega8 with the hex file?

Greater resolution for text than the previous monochrome mobile phone display projects covered on this forum using Nokia and Siemens gLCD's.

Great for those with needing larger text size - imagine on your 50 inch plasma display

Could set up a form of "TellyText" using a radio link as well.

Anyone any idea if the Bas800 hardware programmer I bought from rev-ed would work with Amtel Mega8 with the hex file? I see there was an option in the programmer to load a hex file? Or can the Bas800 programmer be used with other software?

I wouldn't have thought so, the BAS800 is almost certainly PICmicro specific. I don't know of any other software which can use the BAS800 programmer, and it probably wouldn't help if there were.
