Dose the Real Time Clock module (DS1307) have a setting for british summer time,
or do I have to reset the time manually and then reprograme the controlling picaxe again ?.

I thought it did not, but it only took about 15 seconds to check on Google, I searched on "DS1307 daylight saving"

Google is very useful and quick.
