Question about 18M2

Hi, I have just started playing with a 18M2 after using 20M’s and have one or two questions.
1. Can I connect an output from a 20M straight into the input of a 18M2 on the same board ?
2. On unused pins on the 18M2, can I make them outputs and leave them unconnected rather than tying them to ground via a 10k resistor ? I don't know if this is the accepted way of doing it.

1) Yes, no different to 20M output to 20M input. For safety you could add 330R-1K inline, and that would commonly be recommended practice.

2) Yes, though many people would leave the pins as unconnected inputs and not see any adverse effects.

Many thanks Hippy, just thought I would check before making the board. The two picaxes would be very close to each other but for a few resistors I may as well incorporate them.
