PICAXE PIC Programming

Hi all,
I was wondering if it's possible to write code in PICAXE basic as normal but instead of downloading to a PICAXE, download it to the actual PIC, ie without the PICAXE firmware? Because I need to buy some PICAXE 20X2 but can't find where to buy them, so I was hoping I could buy the PIC18F1XK22 and then program that. Firstly is this possible? Secondly can I use the same download circuit?

Nope, you can't do any of that.

There's a limited capability to do that with the BAS800 ( PICmicro Programmer + Basic to Assembler Converter ) but that is an educational tool and therefore limited in what it can do. It will not do what you probably want it to.
