Just did not know if they would be worth it or not.

Look okay for $5 if that's what you want. The character dispay isn't great and there are probably some you cannot create as with all 7-segment displays. As egments seem designed for nice numeric display it'll probably be good for that. It's hard to answer "worth it" in any concrete terms - gold bullion at $1 a ton on a desert island is useless if the only local who has food wants pebbles as payment.

Well I bought 2 on the 8-30-08 and they arrived today 9-2-08 seemed fast to me. I would like to try and display temperature data or voltage or maybe scroll between temperature and voltage. Not sure how to go about that but might be fun to play with.

Looks perfect for numerical displays - and often numbers are all that is needed. Obviously a lot less power than led displays, and would not need multiple support chips like led displays seem to. Please let us know how you get on, and consider writing it up and putting it in the completed projects section.
