lcd woes

Hi everyone

At present I have a 08m ,FRM010 driver and a QP-5515 Lcd.
I am confident I have correctly wired them as per instructions with
the data sheets.(I know I could use the AXE033 but I have already have these components)

I have used several simple example codes to achieve "hello" etc but to
no avail.The "serial transmission in progress" LED is functioning but still just an
empty Illuminated LCD....Is the 08m capable?? anything I have missed??
Any reliable test code?? would appreciate any thoughts

This is the infamous non-standard 'backwards power' LCD - double check your pins 1 and 2 are around the correct way....
