There is ongoing confusion with respect to the LCD wiring as shown in PICAXE Manual 3 delivered with Programming Editor 4.1.5/4.1.6

The diagram on Page 34 is correct, although the "pin" connection labels should ideally be "leg", and the RS/E positioning is swapped when compared to the other diagrams. The labels "D4" to "D7" should ideally be "DB4" to "DB7" to match with the other diagrams.
On pages 35 and 38, the LCD connection pin numbering is correct, but the naming of the "DB4" to "DB7" pins is reversed. The "SE" label should simply be "E" as is the normal convention, and as shown on Page 34.
