LCD Screen from Speedo

Any chance I might be able to get one of these to work off a speedometer board from the scrap box? Both require backlighting & the small one was just used to display what gear you were in. I've never interfaced an LCD screen so I thought it was worth asking!

Yes you can, but...

It's a LOT of work. The connections are most definitely non standard as will be the driver chip as will communications to the driver... etc etc.

I you REALLY want to give it a go, the best you could do is find an LCD driver chip like the old Intersil ones and do it yourself from the ground up.
