Perhaps Google also inspects the quality of spelling and kiddy-text-speak and assumed it was mostly used by non-English speakers?

PS. Should we divide the results by two due to duplicate postings? :)

Google Trends could be interesting but what does whatever it shows really mean ? It's hard to ascertain what the significance of any level is or what any increase or decline indicates. At best an increase would show some people had heard about PICAXE and wanted to find out more about it or were searching for PICAXE related links.

It is interesting to note the geographic distribution. England and the US do not show up show up on any of the top 10 lists.

For a real eye opener, do a trend on Basic Stamp and Arduino.

Propeller quite interesting too.
Maybe people are using a different search engine.
Ask Derek is a good one.

Well, its a bit of a laugh isn't it. And has given a few minutes escape from the dull drudgery of work. I'm sure you're all tapping away some quite interesting words into it right now.
Just check which Nationality is worrying the most about the 'Credit Crunch' :)

I think this may be all credit to manuka. It is his ongoing series of articles in the mainstream press (Silicon Chip) that has generated much interest in picaxe down under. Even though the internet is a marvelous invention, there is still much to be said for promotion through magazine articles.

As an aside - magazines pay quite well for articles that are published.
