fuses

I have a project with Picaxe 28X using L293D motor driver I.C 's. Driving 4.8V motors drawing max 100mA loaded. Looking for some advice in fusing these outputs, maybe PTC fuses or similar devices to simply put in-line. Also would like to protect my DS18B20 "1 wire temperature sensors for any short circuits resulting from potential mechanical damage. Any ideas?

Hi eclectic, thanks for your reply. That certainly was more than a good start. My application of the sensor is measuring water temperatures, I have pockets made with good thermal transfer, just want to stop water splash so think silicon on the pins sounds the way to go.
Thanks again,
Grant
