When I check ether the syntax or try to run a programme the following error occurs: “error 5 invalid procedure call or argument”. The error seams to occur regardless to the code present, which has been correct and the error even occurs on blank sheets or a very simple program like this:

Occasionally though the programme starts working completely fine for a few syntax checks or downloads, then ‘locks’ up again. I have restarted my machine after the installation. In addition, I have installed the programme on another machine and got the same problem (although I was not able to restart that machine after the installation). I have used an old version of the programme editor and recently the latest version off the web.
