Further details as requested of Proposed Compass Logger
1.Compass is OceanServer OS5000 with RS232 Comms.[Compass only]
2.NMEA Fields [C,P,R] are NOT of fixed length.
3.Fields can be De-limited by "C" "P" "R"
or fields can be delimited by ","
4.Estimate close to 18-20 bytes per sentence max.after parsing.
4.Probably would require Compass heading on top line of display
Pitch and Roll on Bottom Line of display.

The unit in question is Compass only[Not GPS No RTC etc.]
OceanServer OS5000 with RS232 Comms.
Electronically gimballed [EXPENSIVE]
It reads Heading,Pitch,Roll to 0.1 Degree Accuracy.
Not for airplane,but would you believe for 4WD club
for use in rally and special events.
Their needs:-
Read and Log:- Compass Heading,Incline/Decline Pitch/Roll on selected stages
Points awarded for degree of difficulty and elapsed time in negotiating
certain obstacles etc.
Not for me I am not into it but was asked if I could come
up with a design and of course there is only one place to get
help and that is you guys on PicAxe Forum.
