Think of the potential for helping people with physical disabilities. Normally, if you can’t operate a mouse or keyboard you’re stuffed (for using computers), unless you can spend a fortune on custom built stuff.

‘Minority report’ interface?

Gestures instead of typed codes? (Maybe Gandalf was on to something)

Robot vision / object tracking / counting?

Endless possibilities...

Probably the coolest bit of freeware I’ve ever seen on the Web.

I'll tote in for the Dark Side:

Military target acquisition & identification, particularly for Auto Sentry use.... :)

Yep, I've held back from installing so far !

Ok after some checking on line and as best I could I installed in onto Vista - Works although my web cam is very low resolution and it keeps asking for more light. Its a bit jerky but that may be my web cam issues.

I guess they are looking to get free testing and perhaps make money in the future on games for the utility.

Now need to find an application - not a lot of use for auto sentry action round here (yet)

Webcam frame rates go right down when you use the AGC and 'automatic brightness booster' and that sort of stuff. It’s all done in software and takes lots of processing. Try disabling all the ‘features’ you can and using a well lit subject.
