Considering we harvest every thing else, it makes you wonder why man has not found a use for spider web and havest that too.

I see many of small bird nests constructed and lined with spider webs.

Perhaps man is just scared that if he wove a shirt from web that some big angry spider might come looking for his shirt back.

It's a bid to stop immigration

With Australia's low unemployment and strong currency, it has become very attractive to overseas workers.

If you don't like all those spiders, think of all the flies we'd have if the spiders weren't here....

Some of those webs were amazing looking, and yes - I hate the look of spiders too, so why the hell did I follow that link?(rhetorical!)

Ooo, I've just started using a program (Norton Commander look-a-like for those who remember the old NC) that needs F5 and F6 all the time, that could be a problem.

Excellent photography in those pics linked in post #1. Very nice.

If memory serves me correctly (sometimes it does,) strands of Black Widow spider web were once used for the cross-hairs of surveying equipment.

I'm not an Arachnophobe, (sp?) as I appreciate the work they do and will leave the odd web hanging in a corner to allow them to do their job, and I try to avoid stepping on the little beasties as I'm the "live and let live," sort. However, I did draw the line at accepting an offer to have a Tarantula climb around on me. It was easily the size of my hand, and I just couldn't deal with that. Certainly not for free. Perhaps for a week's wages I'd consider it.

When it's necessary to set mouse traps to catch the spiders, it's time to move.

Oh, and I'll squish any Black Widow or Brown Recluse I come across, but carefully.
