A "small" problem with FRM050 drawing

Found this "small" problem in the drawing of FRM050
FRM050.jpg

I don't think any of the chips will get enough power!

Question: What makes this chip, which I can not make with a direct link between a PICAXE and L293D?

Hi Wiliam, depends on how skinny that wire is and how many amperes the power supply can put out :)

FROM Tech supplies:
>>>>>>>
FRM050 L293D PWM Driver
The PWM Driver firmware is a special 8 pin chip designed to drive a L293D
motor driver chip to add speed control without any extra output pins.
As used on our AXE120 microrobot system.
£3.00 £3.60 (inc. VAT)
<<<<<<

At that price it's probably better to use a PICAXE with more capability for output pins... You can make a direct link from the PICAXE to the L293....

So the chip not identified in the diagram is a special PIC programmed and available from RevEd...

Hi premelec
I think that the wire is now blown and the circuit again is powered.

Thank you for your explanation - I think I will save my money and stick to a PICAXE with enough outputs

Thanks for the note, that dodgy wire should actually have a 100nF decoupling capacitor in it.
