28x2 Serin C.0 Wont Download

Hey Guys,

I was playing around on the weekend trying to interface a RTI (TV Remote) which has a main "Brain" With RS-232 output. I was able to track down the TX and ground pins and interfaced with a Picaxe 28x2 using Serin on pin C.0.

I have it working very well. Although when I click to download a new program to the Picaxe and the Serin Pin is still connected to c.0 it will not allow for download. I have to disconnect the wire before download.

I don't know if I have the wire connected properly. I have the ground from the rs-232 to ground, and the TX wire direct to Pin c.0, then a 100K resistor to Ground.. ?? Should there be a resistor inline with TX and C.0?

There should be a 10-22k resistor between any RS232-level serial signal and the PICAXE pin.
