28X1 resonator inputs

I'm using an 28X1 in my circuit at 8mhz using the internal resonator.

What if anything do I need to tie the unused osc resonator pins 9/10 too? Can they just be ignored?

Yes, leave them floating / not connected. On a PCB, I'd design that as if there were a resonator or crystal and not fit it. That way you can add an 8MHz or 16MHz if you need accuracy or higher speed.
