20X2 launch date?

Any ideas when the 20X2 chip will be ready to buy? Keen to get my hands on some.

Microchip have posted there is a delay with the raw PICs.

Microchip have not yet stated a definate release date. When we have concrete information on the PICAXE-20X2 release we will let everyone know.

Hippy, is the underlying PIC architecture for the 20X2 the same (apart from some functional details) as the 28X2/40X2? Does this in particular mean that the later release of the 20X2 would automatically imply that it right from the start incorporates bug fixes already done for the 28X2 (if there are any, of course!)?

Yes, the architecture is basically the same, although there are differences (e.g. 20X2 has 128 byte scratchpad, not 1024)! As we have not programmed the 20X2 parts yet they would naturally be programmed with the most up to date firmware possible.
