A AlbertZ Senior Member Feb 17, 2014 #1 Assuming the chip will be programmed off line, can the 'serial in' pin be used as general input pin?
hippy Ex-Staff (retired) Feb 17, 2014 #2 See : http://www.picaxe.com/FAQs/Interfacing/#q9 If used as a truly general purpose input, the hardware should ensure that the Serial In is not allowed to be taken high until the PICAXE has executed a DISCONNECT command after starting. Otherwise the PICAXE may not operate as expected.
