Tying C.5 High instead of Low

This is my controller for my Large Scale model Railway servo driven points.
In the Black diagram it can be seen that C.5 (pin2) is tied to GND via a 10K resistor.
This works well but the fine tuning of the point blades (the bits that move) is not working.
I needed another way to calibrate the blade position so that the servo moved the blades to their full travel.
I consulted AI as I am not really that good at writing picaxe code and it suggested a "calibrator box" that could be plugged into the picaxe via a plug and socket.
To let the the picaxe know it is in calibrate mode it was suggested that C.5 be pulled low (0V) from a normal state if high (5V).
I have read that to stop instability that the serial input on pin2 should be tied low.
Would it still work if it was tied high and pulled low during calibration mode.
C.1 & C.4 will have buttons which when pressed will move the servo 1 set either left or right.
Can anybody see errors in the AI logic here

On the point board
  • C.5 gets a 10k pull-up to 5V
  • so C.5 is normally HIGH
On the calibrator box

  • when plugged in / enabled, it simply connects C.5 to GND
  • so C.5 becomes LOW

Normal mode
  • C.5 = HIGH
  • servo follows the throw lever
  • C.1 and C.4 are ignored
Calibration mode
  • C.5 = LOW
  • servo ignores the throw lever
  • C.1 = UP button
  • C.4 = DOWN button
