Sound level indicator for the classroom

Hi,
I came across an old project powered by Picaxe chips in New Zealand. This involves displaying the noise level in a classroom so that everyone can moderate it.

Science project measures noise levels

Jamie Fenton, a 17-year-old from Taranaki, invented a traffic light device to help prevent preschoolers going deaf at childcare centres. The noise level meter is now being produced commercially by the National Foundation for the Deaf.
