Serial PIC programmer

Hi there,

I have a serial pic programmer that I believe is based on your design. I can connect to it using your software.

Anyway, I had a problem; it was saying 'chip type is not found' (with a 16F627 in it) and refusing to program. The problem, I found, was solved by increasing the power supply voltage.

Anyway, yeah, you could edit the error message to say 'part not detected... check programmer power supply voltage' or something.

The programmer is designed to work with a 9V DC regulated supply (e.g. our part PWR009). If your supply was not giving out 9V originally this would cause the problem.

Hmmm. Odd. Mine has begun doing this too. Only, the thing is, it was fine with the same PSU before now.
