ROLAND MDX-540 CNC mill advice required

I'm looking at getting on for school.
I want to cut PCBs out and parts for students projects.
I also want to be able to mill out prototype units as part of the course.
Has anyone used one, likes them, dislikes them, any comments would help me make a better informed choice.
I wanted to consult a wide range of people involved in the engineering, electronics and and mechatronics field.
Seeing as this forum is all around the world and has a combine experience of a long time, I thought it would be a good place to ask.

Many schools make PCBS for PICAXE projects using these types of machines. The software you need is

This takes in gerber files from any PCB application and then works out the cutting path / does the milling.
