I've read of people using these with PICAXE on the web but cant testify myself.
I'd use a 7805 regulator on the receiver to get PICAXE and RF module working at different voltages = further range.
The receiver is operated at 5V and the transmitter operates from 2-12V. The higher the Voltage, the greater the range
Sure, they will work fine with picaxe. Use the correct regulated supply voltages. Use serin and serout. Use a bit of wire of the correct length for the antenna.
I am looking to try a few projects using just that, from the same people too. I just placed another order with SparkFun, they did me good with the first order so Im sold on there service thus far.
