The Basic Manual documentation for the 1-wire commands (owin and owout) indicates that details on using these devices can be found in a separate One Wire Tutorial. I've looked through the docs that came with the Programming Editor and the Picaxe website but can't find the tutorial.
I did find a post in the forum from Nov 2007 indicating the tutorial was being prepared.
