PICAXE Manuals and books

Welcome to the PICAXE forum

Are you using PICmicro chips or PICAXE chips.

This forums is for PICAXE chips with the Rev Ed firmware.

The manuals are the best starting point. See the link in the top of the orange bar at the top of the forum pages.
In conjuction with this forum most achieve thioer project goals.

Senior member hippy has a website with a lot of data about PICAXE chips as well
http://www.hippy.freeserve.co.uk/picaxe.htm

There is one book by David Lincoln but it is fast becoming dated with many new PICAXE chips available.
Duplicates some of the concepts in the Rev Ed 3-part manuals and has some typos in the examples.

OK - don't worry about what firmware means and you have the right chips. It always best to call them PICAXEs and not pics as that can lead to a lot of confusion.

Read the manuals (yes - you will have to put some effort in yourself!) and try the tutorials - and come back here for things you need more help on...

(proper spelling and grammar is also welcome at all times ;))

It would be a good idea to upgrade your software to the latest version which is available as a free download.
You can find it under the "Software & Drivers" tab.
