XP-Sp2 and Error: 53 File not found
I’m not sure if there is already solution for problem “Error: 52 File not found”. I didn’t find any solving problem in my laptop XP-SP2.
1. Programming Editor is installed to default path (C:\Program Files\Programming Editor).
2. In my case Path error was C:\Program Files\Programming Editor\picprog\picaxe28a.exe
3. After wasting time with uninstalling and reinstalling (I also tried other path d:\progams\picaxe – didin’t work) I took regedit (Start->Run->Regedit) and used find to find C:\Program Files\Programming Editor\picprog\picaxe28a.exe items.
4. There were two lines that I changed. New format to C:\Program Files\Programming Editor\picprog\picaxe28a.exe path was C:\PROGRA~1\PROGRA~1\picprog\PICAXE~3.EXE
Why? Because
Short name (use dir /x in command promt to find out) of Program Files is PROGRA~1 in my system, short name of Programming Editor in my system is PROGRA~1 and picaxe28a.exe is PICAXE~3.EXE.
