If you are considering the phot method, run a search on Instructables. There are are many examples and excellent ideas for home brewed pcb's.

Here is one of better ones on converting an old flatbed scanner to a UV exposure unit.

The newest technique is to use UV Leds as the light source. There has been a discussion on the Yahoo group Homebrew PCBs.

Now a UV laser on a flatbed and burn the photo-res directly would be nice. Quite PICAXE-able by a clever person.

hi i got in contact with my former electronics teacher and he sent me this link which is very good.

its got other basics electronics tutorials on the main page. Under Pic microcontrollers there is a section for Smart Cards which includes how to program them using pics if anyone is interested.

that is cheap! I found an old UV box which has UV tubes on the bottom and inside the lid and its big enough for my PCB

P.S i hate all the health and safety forms and measure needed! and the formal process...
