I've noticed that copying code from the forum included in {code}..{/code} blocks loses the CR/LF's which makes for a mess and a lot of editing.
The solution is to use the Edit Post option and, even though it's not your post, the original text will be presented and that can be copied and pasted without losing CR/LF's.
Example ...<code><pre><font size=2 face='Courier'>This loses all
CR/LF's if it
is highlighted
and copied </font></pre></code>
