Over the next few days the forum will be upgraded to a newer version and also migrated to a newer, faster server. This may cause some short periods when the forum will be temporarily offline. Thanks for your understanding.

The drop down on the menu for PICAXE, all four selections are responding with a 404 error.

I just tried the "PICAXE" menu and get the following error message from my Internet Security software. While I'm pretty sure there is no actual security risk, the site certification needs updating for the new server or software.

I get the following for all the "PICAXE" dropdown links :-

Strange ?.

I get 404, but you get Bad Certificate.

What happens if you press 'I want to continue' ?
The problem has gone away now so I can't test it further. There are a variety of causes to the problem (from 'hacked' websites through to the system being unable to establish a secure connection to the destination page). In this case, I suspect that a secure connection could not be established.

The last option on the PICAXE dropdown (AXE027 USB Cable Drivers) still doesn't work due to a certificate error.

The link is directing you to the following address:

However the certificate is not valid for www.picaxe.com. The certificate is only valid for picaxe.com.

The correct link appears to be...

Below here is the error report:
Web sites prove their identity via certificates. Firefox does not trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for www.picaxe.com. The certificate is only valid for picaxe.com.

Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN

The new forum software does not appear to be automatically setting links to a different colour - so you can't tell they're LINKS (like the preceding text in capitals).

It works if you manually select a colour for THEM but it's a bit tedious. It appears to apply to all existing posts as well :(

EDIT: Now it's fixed, it appears you can still override the colour if you don't like blue :-)

I'm not receiving email notifications for new messages in Watched Threads. It was somewhat sporadic before the forum upgrade, but has completely stopped now.

I run my own Mail Server and can see no sign of even an attempted incoming connection at the time relevant messages are posted. There is, however, the possibility that it is the Firewall on my Router.

What is the expected IP address of the PicaxeForum SMTP server that I should check ❓

(Or are there error messages in the log at the Forum end?)

I'll check back periodically, to see if there is a reply :-)

Same here; I think I used to get them quite reliably, but none since the forum Upgrade. :(

All my User Settings / Preferences seem to be correct, although I don't recall needing to Log In (manually) since the Update?

Cheers, Alan.
