Greetings my 1st post so appologies for any protocol errors
I am using the CH1035 and wish to drive 2 x 12v coil relays ( I need the extra contacts) I realise that I need to seperate the supplies and will use a 7805 with filtering but not sure about the physical connections to the board ie does R9 remain in Cct and can I place 12 v onto V+ PWR

Yes remove R9 to separate the two power supply systems.

Then connect your 4.5V to 5V DC supply to V1+ (left side of reset switch when reset switch is to the bottom) and the 12Vdc supply to V2+ (right side of the reset switch)

All this is exactly as described and shown in diagrams on page 2 of the CHI030/CHI035 manual/datasheet.

You have read that I assume

Then if you need to use a 7805 voltage regulator to create you 5V DC from the 12Vdc supply, I suggest that you have a look at the circuit shown in PICAXE manual 1 page 21 (of the current version 6.4b)
