I bought one of these the other day.
Mitre 10 had them on special for $34.95
They use a 466Mhz UHF transmitter, 20M range.
Looks like they have a 5A relay for switching. (240VAC 1000W MAX)
Five CH remote ON - OFF x 5.
You just buy extra outlets as you need them.

Thought it was worth a mention.

Dµh, helps if you post the addy -

That's kinda cool. Good for those hard to reach spots.

I'm still hanging out for actual wireless power points, ones that won't fry you if you stand in the path of the transmitter ;)

What a fantastic and safe idea for turning on 240VAC appliances.....So how does my picaxe control them ? besdies hacking into the switches on the remote control ?

Well seing they may be available in NZ I
thought Stan might like to trick one out
with ZigBee module and increase it's range
to 1km or so,,wink!

Inside they have an HS2262A chip to select
function/data (was hard to find any info
on this chip, did find a mostly chinese
data sheet) and a small round 10mm can
433 UHF 3 pin module and 10 tactile switches
with their array of diodes.

Have'nt cracked the case on the socket "Yet"
but it is relay switched, can hear it.
(now where did I put that security tip driver set)

433.92Mhz
You can faintly hear the data on UHF CB
around CH 34 and 35.

I'll certainly check them out, but have a healthy wariness for such devices due to their serious mischief capability.
