serial problem connection

hey ive just tryied to re program my picaxe and ive found that it is not connecting right all of the cables are in right i programed it yesterday but now it is just coming up no hardwear connected i am using the serial out as a output did this effect it any help bould be great thanks alot

Have you tried a hard reset (turn off pic, start download, turn on pic).
If you use long pauses this is needed.

Also if its a breadboard check that all connections are good.

Try the test tool under options, serial port.

Does firmware? button work ?

Good power supply? should be around 4.5V for programming.
