Dear picaxe users
I am using a picaxe 08M2 to bridge between a bme280 sensor and a raspberry pi. I am tight on i/o, so am using the programming port for serial communications with the pi. This works flawlessly, except for one issue:
when the picaxe starts up, it repeatedly emits a string of non-printable characters ending in PY on the serial out pin.
I assume this is some message back to the host workstation. I am using the disconnect command and preceding this with a pause 1000 but this does not stop the transmission. The only way I have found to stop it is to disconnect the serial in, and ground it for short period. The problem is when the power cycles the picaxe starts transmitting again. I guess there must be a command to stop this happening?
