Do any of you folks on the FORUM know of source for LEDs with built in a resistor so they can be run directly from a PICAXE output? I'm looking for red, green, yellow and R/G LEDS. Thank you JimS

Just keep in mind when using a LED with a series resistor how much current the pin can source or sink. For example if I find a LED with series resistor that has a 20 mA I am right at the maximum current for the pin. When higher current is needed then it's time to add a transistor to drive our load.

Some time ago I bought resistorized leds from digikey, part number 67-1103-ND. That part is still available, but nothing about the description and nothing on the datasheet indicates that they are resistorized as far as I could tell. The same was true when I bought the last batch, though, and they were.

phanderson.com used to sell resistorized leds, but I couldn't find them now.

JR Hackett (writer of picaxe articles for Nuts and Volts) has them here: http://jrhackett.net/LEDs.shtml

I find them very useful on breadboards.
