That situation is well known.
So why not buy an AXE029 from Rev Ed or build your own on some strip board.

Yes, very simple to put the 3.5 socket on a piece of stripboard and add some headers that WILL fit into a breadboard... Should be no problem, even for a beginner.

Or simply solder three wires to the jack and plug those into the breadboard.

I but some on small pieces of vero with header pins for bread boarding. I could have just cut the plug off and soldered the wires to a header. I made some dev boards with lots of sockets and pins with vero. bread board holes become loose connections after a while.
