Picaxe chip file association in Blockly

Hi,

Would it be possible to automatically set up the right chip at file opening in Blockly? The same if you click on another tab.

(e.g. PE6 is currently set to 20M2, and the newly opened file was written for a 28X2 chip, therefore the setting would change to 28X2 ; a quite common situation within a classroom)

In PE6 the chip type is saved in the workspace, not in the individual code/blockly files. Open a workspace rather than a particular blockly file, and the chip will be set correctly.

Open a workspace rather than ...
How do you do that as workspaces is greyed out in file menu?

In our school network the workspace is not saved. The workspace is reinitialized back to the initial setup recorded at the creation of the image.
I'm trying to get these informations saved but... We've got the same problem for video file association, etc.

We can have students using 20M/20M2 then the following hour some using 28X1/28X2.

When workspaces are disabled (Via File>Options) the workspace (should) be automatically saved in the users roaming profile, and automatically restored when the software starts again. Therefore when that student logs back into Windows and restarts PE6 it should start as they left it last time, regardless of which physical computer on the network they are using.

If you are always getting default settings there is probably an issue with the network configuration, so that PE6 does not have access to read the files in the users roaming profile (which would be normal behaviour for a school network). You can find this folder by clicking the 'my settings' blue link on the File>Help page.
