Hi all.
Simple circuit... 08m2 pulsing a red 1mw laser at no particularly fast rate. It basically sends a 5 bit high/low signal to a receiver as a break beam system.
However, what is the best option for a receiver? I have an IR RX led which works fine, but you have to hit it dead square on for it to register.
The problem with that is I need the receiver to be about an inch (25mm) wide.
Tried an LDR (yes... its that unsensitive and non - time critical) behind a 1mm high slot, but that suffers the same accurancy problem.
Stacking IR leds next to each other results in dead spots between them.
I am thinking its going to have to be some kind of focusing lens, but that is not going to be easily sourced.
I can 3d print a custom housing, so that isn't a problem.
Hmmm
