Leap Second - June 30th, 2015

For those with PICAXE projects using MSF 'Rugby' and other radio time code systems there's an extra leap second to be added at midnight of June 30th, a rare chance to see the time read 11:59:60.

And perhaps the last time as a long running proposal to abolish leap seconds is to be voted on later in the year.

So; just six months to get those PICAXE radio-controlled clocks up and running!

Where will any clock be showing a time of 23:59:60 ?.
Won't MSF etc. just stretch the 59 to make a longer second ?.

My clocks will just go to 00:00:00 a second earlier than they should !.

So lawmakers will simply require the solar system to adjust itself ??

I'm with you. There's going to have to be another way to accommodate the natural discrepancies between artificial (man-made) time, and the natural order.
It would also mean that over time, international electronic commerce will get out of kilter.

Good luck!
