Diff between 8m2 vs 8m2LE ?

Morning all,
My son gave me a AXE102 board that would not program with 6.0.64 set to 8m2. It insisted on setting the chip to 8m2LE.
I can find nothing here or via Google on "8m2LE".
Whats the diff please ?

The 08M2LE is a limited edition/limited memory version intended for use in schools. From memory only 256 bytes of user program space like the ealier "M" series PICAXE parts.
