Hi,
I am new to PICAXE and just bought a PICAXE Development Board (AXE091) and a USB cable (AXE027) to connect to a MacBookPro running OSX 10.9.3 and MacAXEpad 1.5.0.
I had placed the 18M2 chip in the socket marked PICAXE-18 on the development board, connected the battery pack (4.5V), and connected the usb cable.
In MacAXEpad, I can see the usb cable is configured as /dev/tty.usbserial-000014FD
VIEW->OPTIONS->Port->FIND AXE027 Cable returned "AXE027 cable found as /dev/tty.usbserial-000014FD".
However, when I tried VIEW->OPTIONS->Mode->Firmware, it returned "Firmware Check Error. Hardware not found on /dev/tty.usbserial-000014FD!"
Also, when trying to download a simple program using PICAXE->PROGRAM, it returned "Download for PICAXE-18M2 on 000014FD Failed. Hardware not found on /dev/tty.usbserial-000014FD!"
I wonder if anyone could please advise what I might have done wrong, and how do I check whether the PICAXE chip is faulty or not?
Thanks for your help!
Phil
