June 7 EDIT: The boards I received are the CHI030B version, which do not require any modification.

US buyers: Solder a little, save a lot. Sparkfun is discounting Rev-Ed's CHI030A board which has an error which is easily rectified per description:

Note: Our latest shipment of these boards have an error. The error is remedied by soldering in a small jumper wire (or solder jumper) and only affects those needing to use the B.0 output. The new revision of this board will ship without this error. You can view the instructions here.

We suspect this is probably a website mistake, as they have purchased many batches of the new board.

Right you are, Technical. I received the CHI030B board, which has no error and is ready to go. I verified the connections with a multimeter. This good deal just got better! 21 in stock now.

This reminds me of the very first time I saw a stepper motor demo, when I was a teenager at some university open day.
The interlocking wheels had 4 slots, and stepped so fast they just appeared as a blur !.

How fast can your's go ?.

That's as fast as I could push it. 5V motors on 12V. Cheap, not fast.

What $2 steppers on ebay are you referring to? Are you using a dedicated driver chip between the board and the motor, or are you driving the motor directly off the board?

The CHI030 board has a built-in uln2803 which I used to switch the two stepper motors.
