    Remote monitoring wirelessly

Using a picaxe (or not): I'm looking for some simple technology that I can use on an always-on Windows PC to read all kinds of sensors. And perhaps control some stuff. All wirelessly. Stuff like this: * Instant read of what the inside and outside temperature is. Including data logging. *...

    Motion Sensor Trigger

I picked a pretty cool item at Harbor Freight today for $7 (see attached pictures). It's a small LED light with a motion sensor and a light sensor - I think you could put it in your closet or wherever. It runs off of 4x1.5AA batteries (6V). I'd like to use it to trigger a picaxe. Can I just...

    Darlington Output

Hi ! I'm trying to control a 200ma 12v day/night camera with a darlington output from a picaxe kit (sparkfun AXE117 project board). I've got it connected to switch the ground of the camera, but when I run a test program to turn on/off each output of the picaxe/darlington, the camera switches on...

    Movement detector

I'd like to use a picaxe to turn on a simple 12 volt circuit when movement of a vechicle is sensed. I'm thinking an accelerometer would work for this application. Any advice on which accelerometers would work best ... and are there any sample circuits out there? TIA !

So, not knowing much about mosfets, I picked one up at Radio Shack today (IRF510, similar to the much talked about IRF530). Wired it up as shown below and it does not...

    Keypad for PicLock project

Newbie here just getting back into basic projects and hobbies. So, I was at Harbor Freight today and bought all kinds of cool things. New autoranging DVM, Soldering station, a driveway monitor for my "212" style camera project and some other goodies. But one thing I got all excited about was a...
