Trying to get my head around this one

In sussing out a moisture measuring circuit, I came across this old thread: <A href='http://rev-ed.co.uk/picaxe/forum/Topic.asp?topic_id=1414&amp;forum_id=11&amp;Topic_Title=Soil%2BMoisture%2BSensor%2Bfor%2BDatalogger%2B18X' Target=_Blank>External Web Link</a> I'm getting the general gist of...

    Erratic pot behaviour

Hi I've got a Picaxe circuit setup as, well, this image describes it best: http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i78/LordBug/cct.gif The problem is, when I test the voltage between Ground and the wiper (The actual circuit is wired up so the central pin of the pots go to the analog input, if that...

    A smallish enquiry

In the third manual, under the LDR project, there's an analogue calibration board that gets mentioned, and said it was available from www.tech-supplies.co.uk. I've tried looking through the site, but can't find it. Google offers up little else aswell. I was wondering if there's anywhere that...

Now, a tricky problem w/ interrupts

I've gotten everything in my circuit running together nicely. Now, my programming has me caught. The aim of the program is to: Start off checking the state of the sensor. When the sensor goes high (No water present), it the begins an initial countdown. When the countdown is completed, it...

Hopefully the last simple Q :P

I'm using an 08M chip. Input is going to be received from a sensor currently running on 12V. Hence, low=0V and high=12V Will the 12V output value be safe to put onto the input for the PICAXE, or should I drop it down some way?

    Power supply Q

Just a quickie: Would it be just within tolerances to run the PICAXE 08M off a 6V supply? If not, would it be fine to drop the 6V source to 5V by using a resistor? I've only got L7806C regulators on hand, hence the question. Cheers in advance

Advice on which PICAXE to get

Hi I've been trying to set up a smaller timer circuit which uses multiple timers, and have come across the PICAXE chips, which appear to be easier than trying to setup multiple timer chips (CMOS 4060) to do the various timing tasks. My question is: Can the PICAXE 08M, either when powered up...
