Help with MAX127 or 128 ADC

I am considering using the MAX127 eight channel 12-bit ADC and did a forum search. Unfortunate, it only returned a long list of problems experienced by members trying to interface this I2C device, without finding a solution. If anyone has succeeded in interfacing the MAX127/128, or any other 12-bit I2C ADC, please could they share the code with the rest of us?

I successfully interfaced with the MAX187 12-bit SPI ADC using the bit banging routine found in the PICAXE manual.

It needs a bit of tweaking: if you're interested I'll post code and explain these things you need to change.
